Rescue of protected kind of owls, the small horned owl, being on the red list of endangered species in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina

Sarajevo International Airport employees rescued a small horned owl. It is a protected kind of owl being on the red list of endangered species in the FBiH, what makes this rescue even more important.
As recommended by the Animal protection organization, the baby bird was first put back in its nest but after it kept falling out from the nest to the ground on several occasions, where the birdie was attacked by crows, the airport employees contacted the veterinary station Sarajevo whose employees eventually took care of the baby owl.
As this is the season when baby owls leave their nests to take a stroll on surrounding branches and often fall down where they are attacked by cats and dogs, any help from humans is welcome. Following example of animal protection organizations, Sarajevo International Airport advises anyone who finds a baby owl on the ground to put it back on a higher branch of a tree. If the birdie is visibly injured, it should be taken to a veterinary.
At Sarajevo International Airport, near the Terminal building, there is a nest with two baby owls. The airport staff has been informed about it and will keep the birdies in sight in order to protect them.
